Haircuts and Rashes and Shoes

Last week was LOOOOOONG! It started out Monday morning when baby girl had a slight fever of 99.0. By that afternoon it was 100.2. That night, 102.1. I knew something was wrong. She had no other symptoms, though, so I was really worried it may be a UTI. I took her to the doctor the next day and the only thing he could find was a red throat (strep negative) and a cranky, feverish baby. He said she probably had hand, foot, & mouth disease and that it was contagious so Hutch would probably get it too. Lo and behold he woke up the next day blazing with a 103 temp. To make a long story short, Brandon got it too and along with the spots on his hands, feet, and inside his mouth, Hutch also got an all over rash which exacerbated his eczema. It hurt me to look at him! He was SO pitiful looking. Anniston was fine by Wednesday once her fever was gone. Hutch is just now rash free. We missed 2 play dates due to this, plus church a few times. UGH!!! I thought we were supposed to be done with illness now that it is summer. I guess not!

Both babies were in desperate need of a haircut so we went to Nona's shop. I finally let her cut the mullet. I saved a long lock of it. I have to admit it looks prettier in the baby book than on her head. Her new big-girl hair cut is so cute! Hutch got an all over cut too. Brandon said it makes him look like a little hellion. I think that is more due to the fact that he is a monkey rather than the new hairdo. Hutch did not feel good during the hair cut, as evidenced in the pics. He wouldn't leave the smock on so he had hair all over his shirt, which is why he's topless. Luckily we were the only people in the shop!

The new fad in our house it to climb up on anything and stand there. Also, diving over the arms of the couch. Luckily they have not been successful. Well, Anniston did go over once upstairs on the carpet, but there have been no landings on the hardwood and I hope there never are. Any time I try to tell them NO, STOP, SIT DOWN, etc. they just laugh at me. Yesterday Hutch kept standing on the ottoman. I would go over to him point my finger and say NO - SIT DOWN. About the 10th time he did it I walked over to him and before I could point, he pointed at me!!!! I couldn't help but laugh. I guess they are just too young to understand, or either they are just testing the limits!

I've been looking for Anniston some new white shoes. Go ahead and turn me in, but my babies only each have one, yes I said ONE!, pair of every day shoes. There is no point in having 10 pairs that they will wear 2 times each, seriously. They also each have a pair of water shoes and Anniston has some pink church shoes but besides that they really only wear one pair. Because of this I try to get them really nice, well made shoes. Hutch now wears an extra wide size 6 so he has some sandals from Stride Rite. They go with everything he owns, church clothes included. I couldn't find any I liked for Anniston at SR so we went to Lonnie Young's Shoe Store in Green Hills. They didn't have any her size in white but they did have some in another color so I knew what size to order. They finally came in yesterday so the girl finally has some shoes that fit!

  1. Poor kiddos! I know you had a long week. You can tell from the pics they didnt feel well at all. Cute haircuts, too! The boys need a trim but I am tired of paying almost $40 bucks at Snipits for a trim!! I have got to find a new place!
