Two Years Ago (FYI - lots of reading and some questionable pictures)

Image
As the 2nd birthday of my sweet babies comes to a close, I can't help but think about that wonderful day when Hutch Henry and Anniston Copeland graced us with their presence. I had been back at my mom's for a few days to spend Christmas with my family. The doctor had let me leave the hospital for the holidays with strict instructions of what to do/not to do (the list of NOT to do was much longer!). We enjoyed Christmas at my mom's on Thursday, I had an OK ultrasound the next day, Friday, and then I layed low over the weekend. I went in for another ultrasound on Monday and the blood flow to Anniston's brain was decreased significantly. I knew when the technician called the radiologist right then that there was a problem. I knew it was time. But not really. I was in denial. After all I had been through (16.5 weeks of bedrest, 14 trips to the hospital, 2+weeks in the hospital, magnesium, pulmonary edema, etc.) I just couldn't believe that it was all over. I had to see ...

SNOW DAY!!

Image
Michael is snowed in at our house once again. He was snowed in here last time it snowed and also when it flooded. Lucky me! Free childcare. HAHA! But I am having to listen to him sing karaoke and we do run out of food much quicker so there are some downfalls! We bundled up the babies to take them out into the snow this morning. They didn't care too much for it. Hutch wined when we put him in it and Anniston just stood there looking down. All they wanted to do was ride around in their wagon, which they can do without snow. We at least got some cute pics! As a side note, our "good" winter coats/hats, etc are in the van, which Brandon took to work b/c his car couldn't make it. So we had to make do with what we had. Hutch and Anniston are both wearing one of my scarves and Anniston has socks on her hands. At least they were warm!

Mornings

Just wanted to share a couple pics of what our mornings usually consist of :)

Heavy Heart

My heart is so heavy tonight and has been for the past few days. I don't even know this family, but they've touched me to the core. I found out about them through the wonderful multiples group I am a part of. You can read their blog, but I will give you an overview. I am asking everyone who reads this to pray for this family and pray for a miracle. The blog is:  http://mcgregorsrus.blogspot.com/  The story is (don't quote me for complete accuracy but it's to the best of my ability): twin boys born 9.5 wks early. Stayed in NICU for a few weeks. Came home. Doing well. Went for 2 month check up. Found out the bigger of the two had a congenital heart defect. He was very short of breath, which led to extensive testing and mitral valve stenosis was diagnosed. Since the beginning of November he has had 3 open heart surgeries (chest still open d/t swelling) been on ECMO, ventilator, peritoneal dialysis, and currently possibility of hemodialysis. I've never heard of such an ...

Christmas pictures

Image
I love sending and receiving Christmas cards. Well, really just the ones with pictures, but any will do :) I wanted to have a theme of including Santa in each of our Christmas cards, which is what we did last year, but since Anniston and Hutch are terrified of him this year (so far) I decided just to get one by the tree. We will be getting their winter/birthday pics made after Christmas so I can't use one of those pics for our cards. Last night they had on their new Christmas pjs from Gigi so I asked Brandon to sit them in front of the tree, I took one picture, and WALA! PERFECT!!!!! Here's a run down of the Weaver Christmas card pics ever since its inception in 2006. Just gets better!!! Christmas 2006 - our 1st (married) Christmas  Christmas 2007 (Brandon played Santa for my parent's church party) Christmas 2008 (4 days prior to delivery day) Christmas 2009 (They loved Santa!) Christmas 2010 (almost 2 years old and perfect in every way!)

Thankful

Image
What are you thankful for? We've all been blessed in so many ways that sometimes we forget that certain things are blessings. For instance, I've always taken for granted that both my husband and me have our close family all within about an hour of each other. I realize this around the holidays when so many people are travelling long distances to see relatives. I can see mine any time I want. And I am really thankful for that. This year I'm especially thankful for my children, not that I won't ALWAYS be especially thankful for them. We've just come so far in 2 short years both physically and developmentally (me too)! I like to do picture comparisons, so enjoy!  Thanksgiving 2008 (31 wks pregnant) Thanksgiving 2009 (H & A were 11 months old)   Thanksgiving 2010 (23 months old) H with Pops A with Papa The Kids' Table...will I ever outgrow this table? Apparently even if you have kids you still sit at the kids' table. Oh well!

Halloween

Image
Wow, did we sure have a busy October! We had something fall/Halloween related planned for every weekend and Hutch and Anniston loved every minute of it! (So did I!) What did we do?? Gentry's Farm (see previous post for pics), Walden Farm, Jackson's Orchard, Ghouls at Grassmere, Trunk or Treat, Lucky Ladd Farm, Pumpkinfest, pumpkin carving, Trick-or-Treating on Halloween night and um, isn't that enough?!?! We did Trunk or Treat at church last year, but they were only 10 months old and didn't really understand the concept. WOW! What a difference a year makes! We could not get Anniston's pumpkin out of her hands this year. She wanted all the candy for "me me me"! Hutch was a little more generous, but Anniston is STILL carrying around her candy! Trick-or-treating on Halloween night was a blast too. After every house, Hutch would say, "one more". The next few days when we would drive past houses we had previously been to, he would yell, "one mo...
