Kim-isms

Let me start out by saying that my sister read this before I posted it, so I won't get in trouble. I'd also like to say that Kim is very smart and intelligent, as evidenced by her grades all throughout school and her professional success thus far; however, for some reason she just doesn't "get" some things. Luckily she will laugh about it now because that's really all you can do after hearing some of the stuff that comes out of her mouth. The following are things that have actually come out of the mouth of my straight-A student sister. Enjoy! *Until recently she thought that Larry King's full name was indeed Larry (first) King (middle) Live (last) *We both took a CPR renewal class when the babies were a couple months old. Before going she told me she knew how to do the "Heimlich Remover" but needed to be refreshed on the CPR part. *We were playing Taboo a few years ago and her word was hors d'oeuvres. She said she didn't know what t...

Fab 5 Friday

Here are 5 products for the week that simplify my life and make it a little easier! 1. Starbucks Mocha What can this not cure? I do not know. 2. Fisher Price car mirrors What a great invention! My babies can see me and I can see them at all times with these wonderful things. They are rear facing still so they go on the head rest of the 2 back seats. 3. Bath & Body Works Anti-bacterial Soap I'm low maintenance and buy generic and off brand items, but when it comes to soap, I splurge. I mean as many times as I wash my hands a day I should get a little enjoyment out of it, right? 4. BabyGanics wipes I love these because even if the liquid on them is ingested, no harm done. I can feel good about wiping off toys that go in mouths without fearing my babies will be taking in harsh chemicals. Because anyone with one year olds knows that the only way to figure something out is to taste it! 5. BabyGanics All-Purpose Cleaner A spray vers...

Easter 2010

Image
We had a great Easter this year...a little less stressful than last year! No I was not pinching Anniston in the pic of me holding her from last year. She was still having HORRIBLE reflux at this time last year and screamed most of the time unless she wasn't being swaddled close to someone's body. I'm so thankful that she got over that reflux as quick as she did, at 9 months. But it sure was a LONG 9 months. Anyways, we went to church and then to Brandon's parents for lunch and got to visit with Brandon's parents, grandparents, sister, nephew and cousins from Memphis. We also had an Easter egg hunt...a first for Hutch & Anniston! They did very well and enjoyed it (see pics below). Since I wasn't blogging last year I included some pics from last Easter. Look how much they've grown up in just a year. It's been the fastest year of my life.

Lately

I don't really feel like writing much today. I'm tired! I'll just post some pics with subtitles to let you know what's been going on around here. Basically what it boils down to is that my babies are incredibly cute and ridiculously smart these days, as they have been every day up to this point! They go to the fridge when I say milk or cup. They point to their tummies when asked. They do sign language. They walk to the bathroom when I say it's time for bath, get their blankies and walk to their room when I say nap, they go to the bonus room door when I say upstairs. They are babbling up a storm and saying a few words each. Lots of twin moms worry that they "generalize" their twins and treat them as a unit. I really don't feel like I have twins most of the time...they are so different! I just feel like I have 2 babies the same age. And I've never had to worry that I am treating them as a "unit". I'm incredibly thankful for my 2 totally...

Sign Language

Image
I contemplated teaching my babies sign language since I know none, but since they don't talk a ton I decided I would start a few months ago. We have a video but they won't watch it for more than a minute or so. So I've just made up signs of my own and it works for us. Some, I have come to find out, are actual ASL signs just by chance, but most are made up by me and the babies. They can sign these words: tummy, nose, all done, more, cup, monkey, hiding, and bye bye. I've captured a few on camera...enjoy! Anniston showing us her tummy. She better stop doing this before boys become interested in her! Hutch's sign for "all done" Anniston's sign for "all done" Hutch "hiding"
