18 Months Already!!

Image
We had our 18 month check up today. All is good! Here are the stats: Hutch weight: 25lbs, 10oz (45%) height: 33in (75%) head circ: 50.5cm (off the charts still, but slowly coming back down) Normal development = 7 words, 11 signs, walks, runs, climbs, uses spoon and fork, scribbles, good eater, so-so sleeper, loves books and music Anniston weight: 20lbs, 12oz (7%) height: 32.25in (75%) head circ: 47cm (60%) Normal development= 7 words, 11 signs, walks, runs, climbs, uses spoon and fork, scribbles, good eater, good sleeper, loves playing with her baby dolls It is so hard to believe that at this time 18 months ago I was lying in my parent's bed on my left side, uncomfortable, ringing my bell if I needed something, not able to hardly move, trying to stop contractions, laying my hands on my belly to feel Hutch kick and Anniston do somersaults, wondering WHEN these babies would ever come......and that at 5:42 & 5:43pm tomorrow, 18 months ago, my life changed drasti...

Potty time!

Image
I bought Hutch and Anniston their own potties this week. I am not trying to potty train anytime soon, but I have noticed that every time I put them in the bathtub while the water is running, they both pee. Since I at least know of ONE time a day that they will usually go, why not let them do it on a potty since they have their diapers off anyway and let them get used to it?? Anniston has been successful! she had the strangest look on her face after she went. Hutch won't sit there long enough to go. Luckily we have lots of time!

Haircuts and Rashes and Shoes

Image
Last week was LOOOOOONG! It started out Monday morning when baby girl had a slight fever of 99.0. By that afternoon it was 100.2. That night, 102.1. I knew something was wrong. She had no other symptoms, though, so I was really worried it may be a UTI. I took her to the doctor the next day and the only thing he could find was a red throat (strep negative) and a cranky, feverish baby. He said she probably had hand, foot, & mouth disease and that it was contagious so Hutch would probably get it too. Lo and behold he woke up the next day blazing with a 103 temp. To make a long story short, Brandon got it too and along with the spots on his hands, feet, and inside his mouth, Hutch also got an all over rash which exacerbated his eczema. It hurt me to look at him! He was SO pitiful looking. Anniston was fine by Wednesday once her fever was gone. Hutch is just now rash free. We missed 2 play dates due to this, plus church a few times. UGH!!! I thought we were supposed to be done with ...

A Wedding and a Great Friend

Image
A friend of mine from nursing school got married this past Saturday. I usually despise weddings because I think the amount of money put into them is just absurd, but I really did enjoy this one. Simple, sweet, and beautiful. Yummy food too! I'm not usually a cryer, but a few tears did flow down my face when my friend got choked up on his vows. I don't know what it is about a guy crying, but it just breaks my heart! Anyways, I went to the wedding with my best friend, Rachel. We don't get to see each other too much so it is always nice to get together with her. I only have one picture from the day so here it is...she said I make her look tan. I told her that's why I stay so pale, so she can look so tan. Ha! I'm also including some pictures of us through the years... Brett's Wedding Day 1st semester of nursing school. We had no idea what we were getting into. I look like I just had botox too. (I was on Accutane, the miracle drug, and could hardly move my dried up...

Memorial Day

Image
We had a pretty eventful Memorial Day to say the least. I am a little hesitant to share our misfortune, but am doing so because this is a blog of our lives and this is something that happened. You gotta take the good with the bad. It just reiterates that we can be doing everything right and bad things can still happen. And also that just when we think we are in control we realize we are not. We got a generous tax refund this year and used it to pay off both of our cars. We follow the basic Dave Ramsey method, which is to pay off all loans in order of amount, from smallest to largest. The only thing larger than the cars is the house, but that isn't gonna happen any time soon! We were very thankful to be able to pay off the cars though. I'll get to the point. Brandon kindly washed my car for me that Sunday night and then pulled it in the center of the garage to vacuum it out. It is usually parked to the far left of the garage and his is parked outside on the right side. Well, o...
