18 Months Already!!

We had our 18 month check up today. All is good! Here are the stats:

Hutch
weight: 25lbs, 10oz (45%)
height: 33in (75%)
head circ: 50.5cm (off the charts still, but slowly coming back down)
Normal development = 7 words, 11 signs, walks, runs, climbs, uses spoon and fork, scribbles, good eater, so-so sleeper, loves books and music

Anniston
weight: 20lbs, 12oz (7%)
height: 32.25in (75%)
head circ: 47cm (60%)
Normal development= 7 words, 11 signs, walks, runs, climbs, uses spoon and fork, scribbles, good eater, good sleeper, loves playing with her baby dolls

It is so hard to believe that at this time 18 months ago I was lying in my parent's bed on my left side, uncomfortable, ringing my bell if I needed something, not able to hardly move, trying to stop contractions, laying my hands on my belly to feel Hutch kick and Anniston do somersaults, wondering WHEN these babies would ever come......and that at 5:42 & 5:43pm tomorrow, 18 months ago, my life changed drastically. What a hard, stressful, worrisome, wonderful, fun, and so worth it 18 months it has been. I look forward to what is to come!!

WHAT? It seems that things tragic either happen in slow motion or too quickly and vaguely to even realize what is going on. I'm not sure which is better but the latter happened to me recently. June 5th to be exact. I won't go into details (for your benefit, not that I mind), but after a series of events, tests, and a doctor's visit, it was determined that I had suffered a miscarriage. I was 6 weeks along. Did I mention I had surgery to block my tubes over 5 years ago? Yeah. And I had nothing to worry about for over 5 years. But things can change, and they did. I've decided to make my blog private for security reasons. As of now ANYONE in the world can view it and that scares me since I put some pretty personal details on here. My Dark Day

It happened exactly 3 years ago. I woke up crying. I never cry. I went on about my morning with my two 4 year olds at home. Made breakfast, brushed teeth, all the usual. But I couldn't stop crying. "Mommy, why are you crying?" I heard over and over. They had never seen me cry. All I could say was, "I don't know." My heart was racing, I had a sense of confusion all around me. I didn't know what was going on. I called Brandon at work, still crying. "Come home. I'm really upset and I don't know why." Considering the fact that I literally NEVER cried, he knew it was a big deal and came home right away. My mother in law came and got the kids. And I kept crying.
