Hutch #1 & #2

Hutch was named after Brandon's grandfather, Elbert Hutchison, who some in the family have always called "Hutch". He is such a sweet and wonderful man, and I am proud to say that my son is named after him. Naming our son Hutch was also a tribute to Brandon's mom, as all 4 of our parents have a name from their side of the family within our children's names in honor of them. I am so glad we used family names for our children. I think it will be really special for the babies when they get older as well as for the people they were named after. The only name that is not a family name is Anniston. And that is very fitting, as she is very independent!!

I had a patient whose name was Hutch and as soon as I heard it I called Brandon and told him I knew what we would name our firstborn son. He agreed. I'd never thought about it as a first name but when I heard it I just KNEW I would name my little boy Hutch. Fast forward about 3 years and I have a little Hutch of my own!

WHAT? It seems that things tragic either happen in slow motion or too quickly and vaguely to even realize what is going on. I'm not sure which is better but the latter happened to me recently. June 5th to be exact. I won't go into details (for your benefit, not that I mind), but after a series of events, tests, and a doctor's visit, it was determined that I had suffered a miscarriage. I've decided to make my blog private for security reasons. As of now ANYONE in the world can view it and that scares me since I put some pretty personal details on here. My Dark Day

It happened exactly 3 years ago. I woke up crying. I never cry. I went on about my morning with my two 4 year olds at home. Made breakfast, brushed teeth, all the usual. But I couldn't stop crying. "Mommy, why are you crying?" I heard over and over. They had never seen me cry. All I could say was, "I don't know." My heart was racing, I had a sense of confusion all around me. I didn't know what was going on. I called Brandon at work, still crying. "Come home. I'm really upset and I don't know why." Considering the fact that I literally NEVER cried, he knew it was a big deal and came home right away. My mother in law came and got the kids. And I kept crying.
